Is there any law about aggressive solicitation at work?

I am having a lot of my fellow workers complaining about being pressured by management into signing up for the retail credit card that we offer at Kohl%26#039;s and I was just wondering if there is anything that we can do about that...it%26#039;s really starting to break decorum and make the work environment very tense and hostile.

I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s against the law (you%26#039;d need legal counsel to tell you for sure though), but it%26#039;s certainly against store policy.

I can%26#039;t imagine her higher-ups would be happy if the employee quit over this and caused a big stink about it in the press. Talk to her boss%26#039;s boss about it, or call the anonymous employee hotline about work issues and tip them off about it.

It%26#039;s not acceptable at all, and should be stopped asap. Good luck!

Call your state employment development agency!|||Just say no...or get the card...cut it up and toss it...no one will ever know.|||well u have the right to say %26quot;NO%26quot;....

it just like right now i%26#039;m selling my son fund raising Candy%26#039;s.......its up to my coworker or boss if they wanna buy or not...............it just i%26#039;m trying to help my son to get some buyer and definitely help the school too..|||Legally, there is nothing to prevent them from requiring employees sign up for their credit card. It is similar to when auto manufacturers required that employees buy one of the cars that manufacturer made. That went into court and the company settled for making the non-company made cars park in the farthest, unkempt lot.

Lots of companies force employees to also be customers. All you can do is get the card, but never use it. Tell your co-workers not to take this so seriously, it is no different than every employee being required to donate to the annual United Way campaign.
